Teen films is a film genre targeted at teenagers and young adults in which the plot is based upon the special interests of teenagers, such as coming of age, first love, rebellion, conflict with parents, teen angst or alienation. A teen film is a film based on what happens during a teenagers life caused by different aspects and areas a teen could think of.

Who watches teen films and Why do we enjoy watching teen films?

- Pre-teenagers

They're likely to watch due to curiosity of what lies ahead of them in terms of being a teenager, it can help prepare them for future situations such as high school and college

- Teenagers

Teenagers are the main target audience because it is easily relatable to them as they may be going through different situations similar to what is presented in teen movies

- Young adults

Not far from being a teen, young adults almost have this fresh nostalgic connection to teen movies which makes them watch it just for the good ol' days

- Adults (and older)

Like young adults, they can relate to these movies because it may have happened to them which makes them like watching teen movies to remember what they went through as youth and simply enjoy and laugh it off.
