Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World - (2010)

The film is mainly aimed at a male audience aged 13-25 and fits into the action, comedy and fantasy genre; it may appeal to a female audience although the age range would be 15-21. It contains aspects of video games and comics that would appeal to a teenage audience who are obsessed with these.The action genre usually appeals more to a male audience as does comedy; the fantasy genre targets both genders. The movie doesn't contain any well known actors/actresses but still has comedic value which appeals to teenagers. It does contain violence, similar to what is shown in comic books which would appeal to a male audience. The situation in the movie would be liked by both genders as it contains some romance between the main characters but focuses more on the action genre.

The Hunger Games - (2012)

This film is aimed at teenagers aged 12-21 and is part of the adventure, thriller genre. Within the film there is violence which appeals to a male audience whereas the underlying romance gains interest from a female audience. Its audience is mainly general because of the main genres ad the themes presented in the movie. There is also a constant theme of death as The Hunger Games is about people killing to win the games. This means that the film would not be suitable for younger viewers which puts the minimum age at 12 (the rating for the film). The main character (Katniss) was played by a previously unknown actress. Having a female as the main character means that the majority of the target audience would be female as they feel they can relate to any relationship or family problems. Being the star in the film made a name for her; she featured in other films after this one. In the sequel, Catching Fire, more people recognised here which gained a greater audience for that film.

  

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen - (2004)

This film fits into the family, music genre of film. The target audience for tis film is mainly female teenagers aged 12-16. The film mainly focuses on the troubles of a female teenager in high school; made known by the title. This means that the target audience will find it relatable and will be encouraged to watch it. A theme in the film is romance which is a norm in teen films. The star of this film is Lindsay Lohan. Before this film she was a known child actress which meant that she had some influence when gathering an audience for the film. Another famous actress in the film is Megan Fox who made her debut by starring in the film.
