Rough Cut - Evaluation
On the whole I think the rough cut of our opening scene of 'CAIN' is quite good however there are a few changes needed to be made when editing the final cut. According to the feedback we got from our teachers and peers the most common problem was the music that we've used. As a group we have decided that this will need to be changed as we also realised it gets quite boring towards the end of the opening scene due to the beat repeating itself a few times. Watching the rough cut we noticed a rendering error that had occurred when editing which would need to be resolved in the near future. Moreover we were advised to cut out a shot that had been taken in the library because the action was unrealistic. We will overlook this advice when editing for the final cut. Another issue addressed by our teachers was the font and positioning of the title sequence on screen therefore me and my group members decided to make changes to the colour, size and the positioning of the titles/credits. Finally I believe we did a good job in producing our rough cut as it contained good photography and a variety of shots and effects in transitions.
